Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a handheld instrument used to pass sound waves through the body. A computer analyzes the sound reflected back from structures inside the body and converts this information into a picture.
We have a complete radiology unit and employ a Board Certified Radiologist to view films and perform diagnostic ultrasound when needed for your pet. Scans are routinely conducted on the heart, kidneys, liver, urinary bladder, and gallbladder. Ultrasound is often used to guide procedures such as fine needle aspiration (FNA) for biopsy testing. We schedule ultrasound examinations twice weekly but alternative arrangements are routinely made in case of emergency.
