10-24-11 HAMPDEN FAMILY PET HOSPITAL & FOOD BANK OF THE ROCKIES HAVE JOINED TOGETHER FOR A PET FOOD DRIVE.  THE PET FOOD DRIVE IS SPONSORED BY PETS OF THE HOMELESS.  PETS OF THE HOMELESS IS A NON-PROFIT VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES PET FOOD AND VETERINARY CARE TO THE HOMELESS AND LESS FORTUNATE IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA.  DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM   OCTOBER 24, 2011-NOVEMBER 17, 2011. 

We are pleased to announce the addition of a board certified veterinary dermatologist to our staff.  Dr. Tim Strauss will be seeing patients right here in our facility on Thursdays.  Dr. Strauss has 10 years of experience seeing only dermatology cases.  He is an expert in diagnosing and managing allergy, ear and other dermatologic conditions.  He specializes in allergy testing and customized treatment plans for all types of skin and ear problems. 

Dr. Strauss is a Colorado native who enjoys skiing, mountaineering and family activities.  He attended the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine and went on to a three year residency program in veterinary dermatology.  Dr. Strauss is a pet lover and has adopted three furry family members – ‘Sugar’ the German Shepherd, ‘Daisy’ the three legged Pit Bull Terrier, and ‘Pixel’ the orange tabby cat.   

April 4, 2011:  HFPH was honored to host guests of "The American Animal Hospital Association"  AAHA helped coordinate our veterinarian colleagues from Thailand, to visit our new facility.  We enjoyed showing them around and answered their questions regarding our state of the art equipment.
